SUPPORTING THE MINISTRY

While this ministry supports those in the services we appreciate the support we receive to keep the ministry going.  You might like to support us in the following ways
ATTEND
The next level of support for 000 Ministries is to attend our monthly meetings. These meetings allow for discussion and a talk from the bible on topics relevant and in a style applicable to those coming. When you come, you will find an opportunity to talk, eat, network and learn. We hope each meeting will be refreshing and encouraging as we think how to live out our faith in our work. People in the emergency services, medical services, their friends and family are all welcome.

SERVE
Each month (and in the times in between) there are opportunities to serve each other. You might be interested in helping form the mentoring network, or even something as simple as cooking a bbq, or setting and packing up chairs. Please contact us if you would like to be more fully involved.

PRAY
One of the fundamental things that this new ministry needs is PRAYER. Even if you read no further than this, please pray for us as a group, that we will honour God, and build each other up. Some more specific prayer points include:

  • give thanks for the support of many people in bringing 000 Ministries to the point of start up
  • pray for the solid core group of people that has been formed to grow 000 Ministries
  • pray for those who serve our community in the emergency services. Pray daily for their safety and ongoing integrity.
  • give thanks for emergency service workers. Thank God he has placed such diligent men and women in our service.

GIVE
The ministry costs money to run. Time and resources are being put into the ministry because we truly believe it can and will benefit many people. Perhaps you could support us too. You could make a one-off donation or donate on a regular basis. We are thinkging of this regular support as being like a "shout" at your local pub. A shout can cost between $15-20. Would you consider "shouting" 000 Ministries each week or month? You can do this several ways.

You can make internet transfers to support this ministry. Please mark the donations as
"000 ministries"
  • BSB 704-998
  • Account Number 100008066
  • Account Name St Matthew's Ashbury

You could also write a cheque to St Matthew's Anglican Church, Ashbury" (000 Ministries is currently being financially operated and supported through St Matthew's Anglican Church in Ashbury which has audited accounts available should you wish to see them)

Or you could give a cash donation at any of our meetings. The "plate" won't be sent around to guilt you into it, but a box will sit in the corner up the back for you, should you wish to support us.

Sometimes our experiences in the emergency services takes a toll on us and we may not recognise the warning signs this his happening. If you are not feeling like going to work then maybe you are on the way to burn out or Post Traumatic stress. The below links are self administered surveys that can help you work out if you should seek some advice or help.
Post Traumatic Stress Indicators
Professional Quality of Life Scale Test
Life Stressor Scale
If you find yourself scoring highly in these then please seek some advice. You can contact us at 000 ministries, see your local GP or contact a chaplain or work place psychologist.

What is 000 Network?

000 NETWORX...
Is an initiative to support, guide and resource grass roots groups of workers in any location in Australia.

Help and support is given to allow people to start their own networks and regular meetings in their local region.

000 ministries will help you make further connections with other emergency workers and resources from places to meet to recorded talks and guest speakers.   This can help you start up bible based meetings, prayer triplets and faithful mentors in your area.

STARTING UP A "000 NETWORX GROUP"

000 networx is a scheme to help Christian emergency service workers to form local networks.  These networks enable people to support each other in their faith and through the ups and downs of their Job and family lives.

Our aim is to empower people to start their own networks in their local area but with our support and help where possible.

If you are thinking of starting a “000 networx” group in your area feel free to contact us for some initial contacts, guidance and resources.  Groups that are motivated to start themselves are likely to be more effective than groups that an organisation starts.

If you want to start your own group consider doing some of the following things.

  • Speak to a local pastor about any contacts he might have with other emergency workers
  • Make your faith known to colleagues in word and action
  • Place an ad on the meal room wall
  • Contact your Chaplain who may know people in your area
  • Start with a few and build up.  Don’t feel you need a network of 20 people to start up - 2 is good!
  • Discuss with people their commitment to meeting not just their intensions
  • Contact 000 ministries for a consultation to help get things started
